Black fungus - cause, symptoms, prevention and treatment

Mucormycosis better known as the black fungus infection is a rare fungal infection caused by a group of moles called mycormycetes. The mycormycetes lives throughout the environment it mostly affects immunocompromised patients or people with existing health issues.

 The black fungus affects the sinuses, the brain and the lungs. It has been observed in recovered covid patients. Many states across India have declared this as a epidemic.

Symptoms

Headache, patient typically have a stuffy and bleeding nose, swelling, breathing problems, chest pain, caughing along with blood, redness in eye, black lesion in mouth, blurry vision and sometimes loss of vision.

Is it contagious ?

No, black fungus is not contagious, AIIMS director Dr. Randeep Guleria confirmed the news.
Should everybody scare of it ?
Everybody should aware of the situation or aware of the possibility of infection but certainly not scare or loosing sleep on it.
